SYDNEY, N.S. — It’s been more than a month since Anna MacNeil and the Cape Breton Lynx were on the ice in game action, competing against the Northern Subway Selects in the Maritime Major Female Hockey League playoffs.
Unfortunately, the Lynx saw their playoff run come to an end in four games in their best-of-five semifinal series to the Selects, who went on to win the provincial title over the Halifax Western Capitals.
Despite the lengthy layoff for the team, the club has been on the ice on a regular basis over the last six weeks practicing for the most important tournament in the franchise’s history.
Cape Breton will host the Atlantic Under-18 'AAA' Female Hockey Championship this week at the Membertou Sport and Wellness Centre. The four-day tournament will kick off on Thursday and run until Sunday afternoon.
